Sweet Chilli Tofu & Japanese-Style Salad
You Will Need:
300g firm tofu
2 tablespoons sweet chilli sauce
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 garlic clove, minced
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
2 cups mixed salad leaves
1 cup shredded red cabbage
1 carrot, julienned
1 cucumber, thinly sliced
2 tablespoons Japanese sesame dressing (Mix in 3 tablespoons rice vinegar, 1 tablespoon soy sauce and 1 teaspoon sesame oil)
1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
Optional: crunchy fried noodles for garnish
How To Make:
Prepare the tofu:
Drain the tofu and pat dry with paper towels
Cut into 2cm cubes.
Marinate the tofu:
In a bowl, combine sweet chilli sauce, soy sauce, and minced garlic.
Add tofu cubes and gently toss to coat.
Let it marinate for 10 minutes.
Cook the tofu:
Heat vegetable oil in a non-stick pan over medium heat.
Add marinated tofu and cook on each side until golden brown and heated through.
Remove from heat and set aside.
Prepare the salad:
In a large bowl, combine mixed salad leaves, shredded red cabbage, julienned carrot, and sliced cucumber.
Drizzle with Japanese sesame dressing and toss to combine.
Assemble the dish:
Divide the salad among serving plates.
Top with sweet chilli glazed tofu.
Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds.
Garnish with crunchy fried noodles if desired.
Serve immediately and enjoy!
